I’m neck deep in making Kindle and Epub editions of my three books…so that maybe I can replace the two bald tires on my car… and I don’t have time to make a podcast this month.
BUT, I have a marvelous treat for you. I went online to youtube and recorded a speech by Chris Hedges, introducing his new book “Death of the Liberal Class”…which is a stunning indictment of everything that is going on in America these days…and a stunning confirmation of everything I say on this podcast all the time…by America’s foremost journalist and political analyst. No one is more knowledgeable and less of a corporate sellout than this guy. Hedges’ dad was a preacher, and Chris went to a seminary, then became a war reporter for the New York Times, then got fired by the Times when he refused to tone down his criticism of the Iraq invasion. Fired by the Times. Actually, the way it happened, they said: you have to tone you’re your negativity about the Iraq War or we’ll fire you…and he said: you’re not going to tell me what I can write about. And walked out. After 15 years. The man is for REAL. A real investigative reporter, in the grand tradition of print journalism. Not some media jagoff with a portable HD camera and a pretty face.
Anyway…let him tell ya about it…Here’s Chris Hedges.
